Last Week: Rates Up Slightly
A volatile week, with most market data suggesting an improving economy, pushed rates up slightly. With an improving economy, traders will be sharpening their eye for signs of inflation. For the week prices for most mortgages deteriorated by 1/4 of a discount point.
This Week: Retail Sales
Thursday’s retails sales data highlights this week’s calendar.  Weakness could help to hold rates down.  Consumer Sentiment, and 5 & 10 Year Treasury auctions scheduled for the week also have the potential to move the market.
