Curb Appeal Enthusiasm: Single Pick

by Alex Stenback on September 30, 2005

Demands of the mortgage business at the end of the month have once again put Curb Appeal on the back burner this week, but we did want to be sure and post one pick submitted by a loyal reader (it’s his/her house) and fan of the blog.  If you are out and about this weekend, ch-check it out.  Hell, buy it – looks good to us.  Says the seller:

"We love the house and the neighborhood (we’re moving 1 block away to a slightly bigger house), so we want to get someone in here who will love it as much as us. We’ve loved it for 4.5 years."

Good looking built-ins and leaded glass, not to mention a kitchen that is updated, but still fits the period of the home.

“Quick close preferred.”

Always makes me think there’s an impending foreclosure, but that’s probably just because I’ve dealt with so many.

Why else would a salesperson add that to the listing? Doesn’t everyone want a quick closing?

Maybe the house they want to move to is ready for possession? If that was the case i’d want a quick close too so the other seller doesn’t have issues.

yeah, it’s pretty safe to say that most people want a quick closing. But certainly not all do, like if you’re building or still searching for a home.

Have you seen this before? It’s a number guessing game: http://www.amblesideprimary.com/ambleweb/mentalmaths/guessthenumber.html. I guessed 41106, and it got it right! Pretty neat.
