Downtown: Old Age at Altitude, Or: An Urban Vertical Continuing-Care Retirement Community

Wednesday, Presbyterian Homes & Services, (one of the regions largest senior community owners) announced the purchase of 1211 Nicollet Mall, an eight-story office building Dowtown.  There are currently no plans to redevelop the site, but someday, aging dowtowners can aspire to residency in this shining example of real estate doublespeak:

"PHS believes that eventually this will be a good location for an urban vertical continuing-care retirement community…"

The Upside: With a fan base within shuffling distance, the Target Center will have a legitimate shot at future Paul McCartney, Rolling Stones, and Eagles Concerts.
The Downside: Life for the downtown 33 will be a lot easier, and apparently, ladies should consider garden level only.
