Fed Minutes: Nothing New

by Alex Stenback on January 4, 2006

As we surmised, and the Fed minutes released yesterday kinda-sorta confirmed, the consensus among the various Fedsters is that they’ll soon be done hiking rates. Less clear is the the timing, as in when they may be done (no surprise here) which, for the rate watchers out there, makes this basically a neutral event.

For what it’s worth, the market has fully priced in one more .25% hike on Greenspan’s last day (Jan 31st), and there is roughly a 60% probability that Bernanke will add another .25% on March 28th.
