Reader Mail: What’s Up with Mozaic?

by Alex Stenback on October 4, 2006

The question below is an email from an actual reader – yes, they do exist.  What we do with these is post them here (because we are far too lazy and self-important to do any digging of our own) in the hope that someone might know something, or want to start a nasty rumor, or whatever.  So if you have an answer, an axe to grind, a question about another development, or any other real estate related inside info/hearsay/rumor drop a note in the comments or via email at

Got anything to say about Mozaic?
We are thinking of buying and it is a BIG pricetag, but a really great looking

Will it keep its value?  Will it be
a good neighbor?  Want to do a blog about it?

The units are selling like hotcakes
and I am totally nervous and totally want one.  Maybe there are others like me
out there.

We Say:  We have not heard much buzz about this project  – so no scoop or scandal just yet.  The projects partners have a good track record, and the location has been very good, so if you have the scratch (not cheap), have at it, though keep in mind these contemporary "concept" developments may not stand the test of time – what seems very cutting edge today may look very 2007 10 years from now.

We will also ad that the online copy describing the development is some of the worst "space defines lifestyle," high concept, too-hip-for-its-own-good crap we’ve read in a while.  For example:

"…a place where people, ideas and energy mix, mingle and coalesce – creating a community that is more than the sum of its parts…"

"…Not just a condiminium, but a true life-space…"

Um Yeah, we’ll pass on that. But the best part is this:  Each floor has a name! So instead of living on, oh, the third or fifth floor, you live "on" Earth, Fire, Space, Aura, or Time.  [we did not make this up]

Readers Say: Pricing info?  Been to the sales center? Are the units really selling like hotcakes? More ad copy to mock? Comment Below…

Readers? I read your blog. You are in my RSS feed under good blogs. I read both of those every day. :)
