Another Sign of a Slow Market: Dead Bodies

by Alex Stenback on May 2, 2007

Not to make light of what is obviously a sad situation, but you know the real estate market has slowed when a Wisconsin woman dies in her on-the-market home, and the fact is not discovered until 2 weeks later by a couple viewing the listing:

She peered into the bedroom and saw the body of Linda L. O’Leary, 55, the owner of the home….O’Leary had been dead for about two weeks, officials say.  Gale Kent, the Coldwell Banker First United Realty agent who listed the
house, said the property was for sale "for a while,” but wouldn’t say
how many times it had been shown in recent weeks.
