Good News & Bad News: Latest Foreclsoure Data on the Twin Cities

RealtyTrac ("The Leading Online Marketplace for Foreclosure Properties") just released its 2007 Mid-year stats.

The Bad News:  Foreclosures in the Twin Cities MSA (Metropolitan Statistical Area) are up 60% in the last 6 months, and 201% year over year.

The More Bad News: 1 out of every 245 properties in the MSA have a foreclosure filing

The good news:  Of the 100 major metropolitan areas tracked, Minneapolis-St. Paul ranks seventy fifth in foreclosure rate.  In other words, there are 74 other markets in worse shape than us, with Stockton California having the highest rate, with 1 in 27 households in foreclosure.
